Where are Bufori vehicles being produced?

Bufori cars are hand crafted in our factory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is one of the few places in the world where skilled craftsmen with a tradition of painstaking handwork can be found in great number. Prior to moving operations to Malaysia, the Bufori was Australian-made and was the only company producing motor vehicles in Australia to enjoy the prestige of being licensed by the Advance Australia Council to carry the "Australian Made" logo.

Who stands behind Bufori?

The creator and founder of Bufori is Gerry Khouri, supported by his brothers Anthony and George.

What is the Bufori Story?

Bufori started in 1986 as a hobby by Australian automobile enthusiast Gerry Khouri who was determined to build the world's finest motor car. He planned to design the car along the lines of the classic cars of the early 1930's but with state-of-the-art engineering and technology. His company developped into a highly reputable builder of exotic and handcrafted sports cars.

What does BUFORI mean?

When Gerry, Anthony and George tried to find a name for their very unique car, they came up with the words that characterised the vehicle the most. B for Beautiful, U for Unique, F for "Funtastic", O for Original, R for Romantic and I for Irresistible.

What does "La Joya" mean?

"La Joya" is Spanish and means "The Jewel". Every single MKIII we hand craft is unique and a masterpiece on its own, just like a precious stone. Furthermore, Bufori Owners may ask for precious stones to be mounted in the car interior. Imagination is the only limit.

Is there a waiting list for the car?

There is no such thing as a waiting list. However, from the order placement until final shipping of the vehicle, it will take about 4 months (about 3500 working hours), since every car is handmade and customised to the wishes of the future owner.

How long does it take to build a Bufori MKIII La Joya?

It takes approximately 4 months to handcraft a Bufori MKIII La Joya. On average 3500 working hours are required to build the vehicle.

To what degree can the car be customised?

Every Bufori MKIII La Joya is a unique masterpiece. The body colour, upholstery colour and carpet colour can be chosen according to the wishes of the customer. Many more details can be customised. Even precious stones like diamonds or rubies can be mounted in the car interior, hence the name "La Joya". A Bufori owner is only limited by the size of his imagination.
